Random emoji wheel
Spin to land on a random emoji from 60 favourites, each paired with a word so everyone reads it the same way: 🦄 Unicorn, 🌋 Volcano, 🤯 Mind blown. Use it for emoji charades, three-emoji story prompts, group-chat challenges or a reaction roulette at the start of a video call.
Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl + Enter.

What emoji are on the wheel?
Sixty well-known emoji across six groups: faces and feelings, creatures, food, travel and nature, hobbies, and a handful of objects that make good story props (a key, a crown, an alarm clock). Each slice pairs the emoji with a short word. That word matters more than it looks: the same code point is drawn differently on Apple, Android and Windows, and the label makes sure a room full of different phones agrees on what came up.
How do you play emoji charades?
One player spins where nobody else can see, then acts out the emoji in silence. Faces are surprisingly hard (try doing 🤔 Thinking without looking bored), while objects like 🎸 Guitar or 🚲 Bicycle are quick wins, so the mix keeps rounds unpredictable. Turn on Remove the winner after each spin for a full game, and use the results history to keep track of who acted what.
A quieter variant for the dinner table: the spinner describes the emoji in exactly three words and the table guesses. For more rounds in the same spirit, the spin the wheel party games guide collects ideas that suit mixed ages.
Three-emoji story prompts
Spin three times and write, tell or draw a story that uses all three. 🧙 Wizard, 🍩 Doughnut and ⏰ Alarm clock practically write themselves. Teachers use this as a five-minute creative-writing warm-up; the three results appear in order in the history, so you can copy them onto the board. For a drawing version, combine the emoji with a scene from the drawing prompt wheel.
Group-chat and video-call games
- Reaction roulette. At the start of a call, the host spins and everyone has to explain how their week matches the emoji.
- Emoji of the day. Share the wheel link in a family chat and whoever spins first sets the day’s emoji. Everyone has to use it in a message before bedtime.
- Emoji dares. Keep it kind: spin and send a friend a photo of something that matches. Clean, low-effort challenges fit well with the truth or dare wheel.
Can I add my own emoji?
Yes. Type or paste any emoji into the box beside the wheel, with or without a word, and press Enter. On most computers you can open the emoji picker with Win + . on Windows or Ctrl + Cmd + Space on a Mac. To swap the whole set at once, open Edit as text and paste one emoji per line. How each emoji looks on the slices depends on your device’s emoji font, since the wheel uses the system emoji rather than images.
Every slice has an equal chance, as explained in is a spin wheel really random?
About this list
We chose these 60 emoji ourselves for being widely supported and easy to act out or draw; the words are our own short labels, not the official Unicode names. All of them are long-established emoji that display on current phones and computers. Faces and people use the default yellow skin tone; add skin-tone versions if you like.
Frequently asked questions
Why does each emoji have a word next to it?
Emoji look different on different phones and computers, and some are easy to misread. The word makes sure everyone agrees on what the wheel landed on, which matters for charades and guessing games.
Can I use the emoji wheel without the words?
Yes. Open Edit as text and delete the words, leaving one emoji per line. The slices then show only the emoji, which makes guessing games harder.
How do I play emoji charades?
Spin without letting the others see, then act out the emoji with no talking. The first person to guess correctly takes the next turn. Turn on Remove the winner so nothing repeats.
Why does an emoji look different on my friend’s phone?
Each operating system has its own emoji artwork. The wheel uses whatever emoji font your device has, so the same emoji can look slightly different on Apple, Android and Windows.
Can I share my custom emoji wheel in a group chat?
Yes. Press Share or embed and copy the link. The emoji travel inside the link, so everyone who opens it sees your exact set and can spin it themselves.
