Giveaway picker – choose a random winner
Paste the usernames of everyone who entered, clear out duplicates, and spin to pick a random winner in front of your audience. Winners are taken off the wheel, so you can draw runners-up without repeats. You paste the entries in yourself: the wheel does not read comments from any platform.
Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl + Enter.

How to pick a giveaway winner
Close entries and collect them
When the giveaway ends, copy the usernames of eligible entrants from the comments, your entry form or a spreadsheet.
Paste and clean the list
Open Edit as text, paste one username per line, then press Sort A–Z to bring duplicates together and delete any extras.
Record the spin
Start a screen recording, scroll through the full list, then spin. Draw one or two runners-up straight after the winner.
Announce and contact
Post the recording, tag the winner and message them from your own account with a deadline to claim.
How do I get giveaway entries onto the wheel?
The wheel does not connect to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or any other platform, so you bring the entries to it. For a small giveaway, read through the comments and type each eligible username into the box. For a bigger one, collect entries through a form (Google Forms and Microsoft Forms both send answers to a spreadsheet) or through any export your platform offers, then paste the username column into Edit as text.
A named wheel holds up to 200 entries. With more entrants, number them in your spreadsheet and draw a number on the random number wheel instead. Platform-specific steps are in how to pick a random winner on Instagram.
How do I remove duplicate entries?
Decide the rule before you launch: one entry per person, or one per comment, share or tagged friend. If it is one per person, paste the list and press Sort A–Z; identical handles end up next to each other, and you can delete the extras with the × beside them. Look out for the same handle typed with different capital letters, which will not sit side by side.
If extra entries are allowed, keep each one on its own line so that person has more slices, and say so in the rules. Remove your own account, staff and anyone who broke the rules before you spin, never after, so the result cannot be questioned.
How do I record the draw so followers trust it?
- Screen-record the whole thing in one take: the list scrolling past, the spin and the result.
- Set the spin length to Long in Settings for an eight-second spin on a live stream.
- Before the first spin, copy a share link. It holds every entrant, so you can show anyone who asks exactly who was in the draw.
- After the draws, press Copy under Results. You get the winner and the runners-up, numbered in the order they were picked.
Every spin is a fresh random pick, so a result cannot be repeated later; the recording is your proof. Our guide to running a fair giveaway online covers rules, eligibility and transparency in more depth.
How should I announce the giveaway winner?
Post the recording, tag the winner and send them a direct message from your own account. Give a clear deadline to reply, such as 48 hours, and move to the first runner-up if they do not respond. Because runners-up were drawn on the same recording, nobody can say you picked a friend the second time.
Tell your followers that you will never ask for a password, card details or a fee to claim a prize. Scammers often copy giveaway accounts and message entrants, and a public warning protects your audience. Platforms also have their own promotion rules; Instagram's, for example, ask hosts to state that the giveaway is not sponsored or run by Instagram. Local laws on prize promotions vary too, so check them for larger prizes.
Frequently asked questions
Does the giveaway picker import comments automatically?
No. The wheel has no connection to social media accounts. You copy the usernames of eligible entrants yourself and paste them in with Edit as text, which also gives you the chance to remove duplicates and rule-breakers first.
Can I pick more than one giveaway winner?
Yes. Removal is switched on here, so spin once for each winner. Every winner leaves the wheel when you close the result, and the Results list keeps them in the order they were drawn.
How do I give some entrants extra entries?
Add their username once for every entry they earned, so they get more slices. Alternatively tick "Use weights" in Settings and set their weight to the number of entries. Either way, explain the rule in your giveaway post.
Can my followers check that the draw was fair?
Record your screen while you show the full list and spin, and keep a share link of the entries from before the first spin. Viewers can then see who was in the draw and watch the winner being picked.
Is my list of entrants stored anywhere?
Only in your own browser. SpinDecide does not upload the list. If you create a share link, the usernames travel inside the link, so anyone you send it to can see them.
