Lunch wheel
Spin for a lunch idea when the same sandwich has lost its charm. The wheel mixes packed lunches, quick meals at home and things to pick up near work, from wraps and pasta salad to soup and a grain bowl. Edit it for your office, your kids’ lunchbox or your kitchen.
Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl + Enter.

How do I get out of a lunch rut?
Put ten or more lunches you would happily eat on the wheel and let it choose, day by day. Most people eat the same three or four lunches on repeat simply because deciding at 7 am, or at noon with a queue behind you, is not the moment for creativity. Doing the thinking once, when you build the wheel, fixes that.
The default wheel mixes things you make and things you buy. Delete whatever does not suit you, and add a few new ideas so there is always something you have not had this week.
Packed lunch ideas for work
For office lunches, the practical limits are what travels well and what you can reheat. Build your wheel around those: cold options such as pasta salad, wraps and grain bowls, plus hot ones like soup in a flask or leftovers if you have a microwave. Spin the night before, so the lunch can be made while dinner is cooking.
A Sunday batch-cook works well with the wheel too. Spin two lunches, make a big portion of each, and alternate them through the week.
School lunchbox ideas for kids
Children are more likely to eat a lunch they chose. Build a small wheel of lunches you are happy to pack, then let your child spin each evening. Keep it to six or eight options, and let them help pack it; our chore list for kids has more age-appropriate kitchen jobs.
If you are packing for two children who disagree, the who goes first wheel can decide whose turn it is to spin.
Where should the office go for lunch?
For a team lunch out, change the slices to places near the office, or to types of food, and share the link in the team chat so everyone sees the same wheel. One spin, no week-long thread. The restaurant picker explains how to set up a wheel of local favourites and keep it for next time.
To choose who fetches the order, put names on the wheel instead of food.
Lunch and dinner on separate wheels
It helps to keep them apart. Lunches tend to be quick, cold or portable; dinners take more time. The dinner wheel covers the evening meal, and the what to eat wheel is for days when you do not mind what form the food takes. Each wheel is saved separately in your browser, so editing one does not change the others.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make separate lunch wheels for work and school?
This page saves one version per browser. To keep two, set up the first, press Share or embed and bookmark the link, then edit the wheel for the second and bookmark that link too. Each link reopens its own list.
How do I avoid the same lunch twice in a week?
Tick Remove the winner after each spin in Settings. Each lunch leaves the wheel after it is chosen. On Monday, press Reset to default or paste your list again to start a fresh week.
Can kids use the lunch wheel on their own?
Yes. The wheel is simple to spin by tapping it, needs no account and has no chat features. Build a short list of lunches you are happy to make, then hand over the spinning.
Can I add healthy options and make them more likely?
Yes. Add the lunches you want to eat more often, tick Use weights in Settings and give them a weight of 2. Their slices grow and they come up about twice as often as the others.
