List your places
Write down the restaurants you and your group actually like, including a couple you have been meaning to try.

How do I fill the wheel with my own restaurants?
The default slices are types of restaurant, which is enough to get a group moving. The wheel becomes genuinely useful when it holds your own places. Press Edit as text, delete the list and type the restaurants you like, one per line. Short names are best, such as “Corner noodle bar”, because long names get shortened on the slices, though the full name always shows in the result.

How do we choose a restaurant as a group?
Group dinners stall because nobody wants to be the one who picked the place everyone hated. The wheel takes that pressure off. Share the wheel link in the group chat before you meet, let people suggest additions for a day, then spin together. Agree in advance that anyone with a dietary need can remove places that do not work for them; after that, the result stands.
For a two-way stand-off, such as sushi against pizza, a this or that wheel is quicker.
Can I make some restaurants more likely?
Tick Use weights in Settings. Give reliable favourites a weight of 2 and new places a weight of 1, and the wheel will mostly send you somewhere safe while still picking the unknown now and then. For birthdays, it is a kind gesture to raise the weight of the guest of honour’s favourite. Just tell the table the odds are tilted.
Practical tips before you spin
- Check opening hours first. Delete anywhere closed tonight so you do not have to spin twice.
- Set a budget. Keep a separate wheel, saved as a share link, for everyday places and one for special occasions.
- Try somewhere new. Add a “Somewhere we’ve never been” slice and pick the place together when it lands.

Can I add the names of real restaurants near me?
Yes. Type any name into the box and press Enter, or paste a list with Edit as text. Each option can be up to 60 characters, and the wheel holds up to 200 of them.
Does the wheel know which restaurants are open?
No. It only picks from the list you give it and does not look anything up. Check opening hours and bookings first, and delete anywhere that is closed before you spin.
How do I share the wheel with my friends?
Press Share or embed and copy the link. The link carries the whole list, so anyone who opens it sees the same restaurants, colours and settings, and can spin it themselves.
How do we avoid going to the same place every time?
Tick Remove the winner after each spin. Each place leaves the wheel once chosen, so a regular group works through every restaurant before any repeats. Keep the share link to restore the full list.
Can I keep a cheap wheel and a special-occasion wheel?
